Update: According to Pitchfork, a rep from Beyoncé's camp confirmed that the remix is not an official release.
Beyoncé has yet to release new music in 2018 and nothing of her own since 2016's Lemonade, making fans eager for some new material. So when a new version of her I Am... Sasha Fierce smash "Sweet Dreams" surfaced online Wednesday night (Feb. 21), the Bey Hive swarmed -- even though it wasn't actually posted by Bey herself. The mysterious surprise remix to "Sweet Dreams" appeared on Apple Music, Tidal and iTunes, credited to "IDS" on Tidal and copyright attributed to “℗ 2018 Beyonce” on Apple Music and iTunes. But according to Beyonce's reps (as told to Pitchfork), the "Formation" singer had nothing to do with the random release. Despite the track being unofficial, it's hard to deny that the new hip-hop tinged mix of the electro-synth smash is a banger. And with Beyonce staying mum on when new music is coming, the Bey Hive can at least relish in the old and new versions of a Queen B classic. Listen to the (unofficial) "Sweet Dreams" remix and revisit the original (official) version below.
